A BILL to amend article three, chapter twenty-eight of the code
of West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as
amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated
section one-b, relating to clarifying that venue for
criminal or civil actions arising at the West Virginia
Industrial home for youth is in Harrison County
.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That article three, chapter twenty-eight of the code of
West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended,
be amended
by adding thereto a new section, designated section
one-b
, to read as follows:
ARTICLE 3. INDUSTRIAL HOME FOR YOUTH.
§28-3-1b. Venue for industrial home for youth.

Notwithstanding any other provision of law, venue for any criminal or civil actions arising on the grounds and buildings
of
the West Virginia industrial home for youth
, established in
this article, lies in the circuit or magistrate courts of
Harrison County.

NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to clarify that venue for
actions on the grounds and buildings of the industrial home for
youth lies in Harrison County.
